Keep your professional credits “in shape”! Arizona state law requires public and charter K-12 educators to complete an additional 45 hours of approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) training in order to receive Full SEI Endorsement. The 6-day, 45-hour SEI Boot Camp covers the Arizona Department of Education's required training components in a convenient, targeted format—and participation qualifies for 45 hours of Professional Development Credit. Small class sizes (30 or less per classroom) ensure individual attention so you'll get the maximum benefit from your SEI Boot Camp experience. Tuition includes all learning materials and may be reimbursable by your district or school— contact your administration to find out if you qualify. Participants must attend 100% of the 6-day, 45 hour training for the full SEI Endorsement.

Extending Life: Setting the Agenda for the Ethics of Aging, Death and Immortality

Examining emerging developments in medicine, biotechnologies and cultures has become an important part of the Bioethics subject matter. With the continuous rise in the nation’s aging population, there is a need to analyze and explore the ethical issues developing from this group. These ethical issues include long- term care, attitudes toward dying and end of life decision-making and organ donation. In addition, there is a continuing disagreement for and against the legalization of assisted suicide and euthanasia and the hype and hope of biological immortality. These issues are important and need to be faced as the population grows older.
